SCR is one of the most immportent types of power semiconducter devices.It is a 4 layer,three p-n jenctions and 3 terminal(anod,cathod,gate)device.
CONSTRUCTION
The three jenctions J1,J2&J3 are formed from the 4 layers of alternate P-type and n-type silicon semiconducter.outer p-regin is called anode.outer n-regin is called cathode.The terminal connected to inner p-regin called the gate.SCR is universally employed for all high power controlled devices.SCR is usd as a "controlled switch".
